Wilma Jean Baker, 89, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her home.

She was born on September 24, 1931, in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late William and Winnie (Westfall) Wilfong and married Dallas L. Baker on October 10, 1948, in Buckhannon, WV. He preceded her in death just five months ago, on December 4, 2020.

Jean worked as a book keeper in the tool and dye manufacturing industry, a position from which she retired, but was primarily a homemaker throughout her life.

She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Christ in Chambersburg, PA. In her free time Jean enjoyed crafts, cross stitch, and baking; and most importantly being around and taking good care of her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Regina Smeltzer and husband Paul of Darlington, SC, and Brenda Butler and husband Brad of Shippensburg; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. Jean’s funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Akron, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Church of Christ, c/o: The Parking Lot Project.
