Obituary for William H. Schaefer
William H. Schaefer, 67, of Hagerstown, departed this life on the morning of Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Hagerstown Health Care Center.
He was born on December 23, 1953, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Herbert S. and Ethel L. (Boyd) Schaefer.
William was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for Garden State Tanning, Inc., as an I.T. Systems Administrator.
He is survived by his sister, Carla Schaefer Hedges & husband Benjamin of Shippensburg; two nieces, Susan Stewart of Chambersburg and Emily Burch and husband Claudio of Chester, VA; and several grandnephews, grandnieces, and great-grandnieces.
William was preceded in death by his parents.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. At William's direction, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. He chose to donate his body to the Anatomical Board of Maryland, with hope to further cancer research.
Memorial contributions may be made in William's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Maryland Chapter.
