Obituary for Susie A. Mackey (Kirby)
Susie A. Mackey, 70, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Sunday, May 16, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Tuesday, October 31, 1950 in Union, WV, a daughter of the late Alvin J. and Bessie M. (Weikle) Kirby.
Susie worked as a certified nursing assistant at The Episcopal Home, Shippensburg for over 48 years. She loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting rooster décor and taking trips with her sisters to her hometown in Union, West Virginia. Susie was also member of the Shippensburg Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry L. (Adele) Kirby and Shawn L. (Erin) Mackey; four grandchildren, Tucker Kirby, Aubrey Kirby, Brennan Mackey, and Jameson Mackey; five sisters, Patricia Mowery, Darlene Stee, Vickie Miner, Kathy Chamberlin, and Doris Kibler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bertram J. Mackey who passed away on November 2, 2012. Also preceding her in death is one grandson, Connor Kirby and one brother, Kyle Kirby.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Minister Dennis Adams officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Susie will be laid to rest in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
