Obituary for Shirley J. Orndorff (Johnson)
Shirley J. Orndorff, 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Tuesday, March 26, 1935 in Mooredale, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Albert and Blanche Beulah Perry Johnson.
Shirley was of the Protestant Faith. She retired from Affiliated Industries in Shippensburg after 23 years of service. She later worked as a custodian for the Shippensburg School District with 10 years of service.
She was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved to watch them play baseball and softball. Shirley also loved to cook.
She is survived by four children, Jody Orndorff Brenner, Wellsville, Connie A. (Charles) Newell, Cleversburg, Glen H. (Brenda) Orndorff, Jr., Orrstown, and Christine A. (Robert) Roberts, Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Orndorff, Sr., who passed away March 19, 2002; five brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with the Rev. Joseph R. Baer officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family request all in attendance to wear masks and practice social distancing.
