Obituary for Samuel E. "Sam" Bubb Jr.
Samuel Elmer “Sam” Bubb, Jr., 70, of Upper Strasburg, PA, departed this life peacefully on the morning of Friday, December 23, 2022 at UPMC West Shore.
He was born on January 17, 1952 in Carlisle, the son of the late Samuel E. Bubb, Sr. and Lois J. (Hill) Miller.
Sam worked as a loom mechanic for the Newville Ribbon Company for over 35 years. He was a member of the Apolstolic Faith Church, Chambersburg and loved reading his Bible and sharing the gospel. Sam enjoyed model trains, puzzles, chatting with company, and nitpicking with his wife. One of Sam’s most memorable pastimes was playing the organ and keyboard. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His smile was always certain to brighten a room. He was loved by so many and will be missed by everyone.
Sam is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy D. (Raudabaugh) Bubb; five children, Eric Snyder of Newville, Tabitha Ott of Shippensburg, BillyJo (Jason) Johnson of Upper Strasburg, Dakota (Caitlyn) Bubb of Plainfield, and Christian (Chelsea) Bubb of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Sierra) Snider, Casey (Melissa) Ott, Dakota (Caitlyn) Bubb, Rebecca (Joseph) Hunter, Bailey (Charlie) Isenberger, Christian (Chelsea) Bubb, Emily Johnson, and Joshua Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Violet (Bill) Pfarr, Deb (Steve) Garman, and Diana (Dennis) Kramer.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Phillip Zook will officiate. There will be no public viewing.
