Obituary for Robert C. "Bob" Caudill

Robert C."Bob” Caudill, 74, of Orrstown, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the Orrstown Personal Care Home.

He was born in Chambersburg, on December 17, 1947, a son of the late Marion “Red” and Hazel (Vaughn) Caudill. Bob married Linda K. Runshaw on March 30, 1968, in the Mongul United Brethren Church.

In his younger years Bob worked at the former American Can Co., Chambersburg. He spent twenty five years of his working life at the Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring as an artillery mechanic in 1999. After his retirement, Bob enjoyed working part time at the Corpus Christi School and Cemetery in Chambersburg.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching boxing on television. He was also interested in Civil War history. Bob liked to work with his hands and really enjoyed doing different kinds of construction projects. He built his own home and helped many others in the building of their homes as well. One of Bob’s favorite things to do was take walks with his family and he absolutely adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of fifty four years, Linda, he is survived by two sons, Brian R. Caudill and wife Kristina of Shippensburg and Jamie L. Caudill and wife Jennifer of Orrstown; four grandchildren, Laura Rhodes and husband Chase of Shippensburg, Allison Baker and husband John of Shippensburg, Taylor Rivest and husband Alan of Newburg, and Brandon Caudill of Shippensburg; three great grandchildren, Daxton, Decker, and Dallie Rhodes; his brother, Donald Caudill and wife Connie of Orrstown; his sister, Arlene Brown and husband Paul of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 21, 2022, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor John Runshaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
