Obituary for Patricia Ann Smith
Patricia Ann Smith, 67, of Newburg, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, May 28, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on May 1, 1955, in Carlisle, the daughter of Geraldine L. (Scott) Wheeler and the late Chester “Ben” Wheeler.
Pat worked in the health care field as a CNA at several of the local area nursing homes. She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church and sang in its choir.
In her free time Pat enjoyed going to fairs, carnivals, and parades. She liked to go play BINGO and have game nights at home. Pat always enjoyed going out on the weekends to eat or go shopping. She especially cherished time with her two nephews and her late Teacup Pomeranian, Molly.
In addition to her mother, Pat is survived by her son, Scott L. Hoover of Newburg; brother, Wesley L. Wheeler and wife Roberta of Shippensburg; grandson, Tyler S. Hoover of Shippensburg; granddaughter, Tiffany L. Carver of Shippensburg; nephews, Brandon W. and Brady W. Wheeler, both of Shippensburg; and niece, Krissy Cressler of Newburg.
In addition to her father, Pat was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bernice T. Scott; and her beloved dog, Molly.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Judi Herrold will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
