Obituary for Patricia R. "Patsy" Gerhart (Shank)
Patricia R. “Patsy” Gerhart, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home.
Born Friday, August 23, 1940 in Martinsburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Ruth E. Kerlin and the late Gerald L. Shank.
Patsy married Jack in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg on December 16, 1961. Upon her husband’s retirement from the DCFD in 1995, they returned to the area as members of FUMCC.
Patsy will be remembered as a sweet, kindhearted person who felt blessed by her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, swimming, traveling and going for walks.
She was loved and she will be missed.
Surviving is her daughter Susan and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, her son Jeffrey R. Gerhart in 1997, her youngest sister Mary in 2004, her husband Jackson H. Gerhart in 2004, her mother in 2008 and her eldest sister Betty in 2013.
A small graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Norland Cemetery on Thursday, February 4, 2021, with the Rev. Steven M. Livermore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Residential Home Health & Residential Hospice, 100 Sterling Pkwy # 110 Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
