Obituary for Myrtle E. Kriner (Naugle)

Myrtle E. Kriner, 89, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.

She was born Thursday, December 7, 1933 in Oakville, PA. Myrtle was a daughter of the late Berkley Naugle and Fannie Durf Naugle Deck.

Years ago she worked as an LPN at the Chambersburg and Hershey Hospitals and then worked and retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Wooden Nickel Club of Shippensburg. Myrtle enjoyed BINGO, crocheting, mowing her lawn, keeping her home tidy, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat “Bead” Monismith; a son, Daniel E. Naugle; and three brothers, Don, Sid, and Robert Deck.

Myrtle is survived by one daughter Kathy A. Pinko and her husband Frank of Newville; one son, Robert J. Monismith and his wife Susan of Shippensburg; one brother, George Deck of Shippensburg, one sister, Linda Johnson and her husband Richard of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Danyel, Nathan, Billy, and Kelani; several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Officiating will be The Rev. Bruce Levy. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
