Obituary for Lincoln B. Fogelsanger

Lincoln B. Fogelsanger, 93, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born July 2, 1928 in Shippensburg, PA. Lincoln was a son of the late Lincoln S. and Mary (Bixler) Fogelsanger.

He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg. For 34 years, Lincoln was the Instrumental Music Teacher for the Shippensburg Area School District. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Lodge #315 F&AM, Shippensburg, Harrisburg Consistory and their orchestra, Shippensburg Scottish Rite Club, and the Zembo Shrine where he was the Band Director. Lincoln was a member of the Shippensburg Band, Carlisle Band, and the New Cumberland Band. He was a 1946 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School, 1950 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned his Master’s in Music Foundation from Pennsylvania State University in 1957. Lincoln was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Fogelsanger and a brother, John Fogelsanger.

Lincoln is survived by his wife, Nancy (Shive) Fogelsanger; two sons, Allen L. Fogelsanger of Brooklyn, NY and Todd (Pamela) Fogelsanger of Carlisle and; two grandsons, Nathan and Joshua Fogelsanger.

Masonic services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg at 11 a.m. with the Memorial Service to follow. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Christopher Suehr. Burial and military honors are private. There will be no visitation prior to the services, however a reception will follow.
