Obituary for Lillie E. Armstrong (Johnson)
Lillie E. Armstrong, 98, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Restore Health at Shippensburg.
Born Sunday, October 7, 1923 in Amberson, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Verna Doyle Johnson.
Lillie was a member of the Open Door Church and their adult Sunday School Class in Chambersburg.
Earlier in her life, she worked at the former Marden Clothing Company, Shippensburg. Lillie later opened Lillie Armstrong’s Beauty Shop which she operated for over 50 years.
She is survived by one son, Robert E. (wife Christine) Armstrong, Shippensburg; four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omar E. Armstrong who passed away February 24, 1996; one son, Barry E. Armstrong; three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor Carl McKee officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday, in the funeral home.
