Obituary for Leroy L. Shindledecker
Leroy L. Shindledecker, 86, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
He was born on April 29, 1936 in Hanover, PA, a son of the late Norman Leroy and Kathleen Grace (Marsh) Shindledecker.
Leroy graduated from the Gettysburg High School and was a United States Army National Guard Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
He is survived by seven children, Della (Brian Clopper) Urick, Tammy Sawyer, Tracy (Sam) Braunns, Sandy (Mark Shaffer) Gebhart, Jason (Julian) Shindledecker, Christina Johns, and Kevin (Stacey) Shindledecker; one stepdaughter, Tammy Boyer; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (fiancé Dawn Reasner) Shindledecker; and two nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace T. (Russell) Shindledecker, who passed away on March 30, 2018. Also preceding in death is one sister, Betty Hallinger.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
