Obituary for Laura M. McRorie (Lyon)
Laura L. McRorie, 78, of Shippensburg, formerly of Cortland, NY, departed this life on the morning of Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on April 20, 1942, in Endicott, NY, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Horton) Lyon and married Gary L. McRorie, Sr., on December 25, 1959 at his mother’s home in Cortland.
Laura worked in the clothing manufacturing industry. She was a member of the Open Door Church, Chambersburg, and in her free time enjoyed most any kind of crafting.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, Gary, she is survived by three sons, Gary L. McRorie, Jr., of Shippensburg, John S. McRorie of Endicott, NY, and James C. McRorie of Binghamton, NY; her daughter, Tammie Sue Ludlow and husband Fred of Daytona, FL; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Dixie Lyon of Greene, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her brother, George, and two sisters, Judy and Nancy.
