Obituary for Larry E. Lininger
Larry Eugene Lininger, 75, of Orrstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at The Gardens of Gettysburg.
He was born on Friday, August 29, 1947, a son of the late Woodrow “Woody” and Mildred (McCleary) Lininger.
Larry was a member of the American Legion Post #223 and the VFW Post #6168, both of Shippensburg. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Larry would frequently volunteer at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, sharing his stories and experiences about being a wartime Veteran with students. He also enjoyed traveling, hiking, and taking pictures of bald eagles and wolves.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Lininger, and daughter, Kristina Lininger.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Minutemen of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minutemen of the American Legion Post #223, 100 Dykeman Rd., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
