Obituary for Judith D. Culbertson (Diehl)

Judith D. Culbertson, 75, formerly of Shippensburg, late of Chambersburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Menno Village.

She was born on January 12, 1947, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Clyde E. and Hazel G. (Groce) Diehl. Judy married Charles A. “Chub” Culbertson in May of 1985 in the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death just two months ago, on February 1, 2022.

Judy earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Denver. She worked for many years in the Ezra Lehman Memorial Library at Shippensburg University, retiring in 1999.

She was a longtime member of the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg. She loved travel, the arts, food, and spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by two step-children, Jennifer Bucatari and husband Adrian of Wilmington, NC, and Geoffrey Culbertson and wife Mary of Saline, MI; and four granddaughters, Micah, Sylvia, Allana, and Ella.

In addition to her parents and husband of 37 years, Charles, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray E. Diehl and sister-in-law, Diane L. R. Diehl.

Her graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, April 25, 2022, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Pastor Ed Blank will officiate. There will be no public viewing. Visitation will be concurrent with the graveside memorial service.
