Obituary for Joan S. Reed (Shearer)
Joan S. Reed, 89, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the Shook Home.
She was born Saturday, September 24, 1932 in Blairs Mills, PA. Joan was the daughter of the late William W. and Helen E. Blair Shearer.
Joan retired from Big Spring School District where she taught elementary school for 34 years. She was a member of the Spring Run Presbyterian Church. Joan graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Reed, Sr. who passed away February 16, 2022. Her brother, William D. Shearer is also deceased.
Joan is survived by one son, John W. Reed, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Chambersburg, three grandchildren, Leah, Jade and Brock Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Chaplain Vernon D. Isner.
