Obituary for Jackson Stewart Starliper
Jackson Stewart "Jack" Starliper, 71, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Friday, December 25, 2020, at his home.
He was born on March 21, 1949, in Winchester, VA, a son of the late Harold T. and Nancy L. (Webber) Starliper, Sr. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corp 3rd Battalion 6th Marines 2nd Division during the Vietnam War, enlisting on October 3, 1968 and honorably discharged on October 1, 1971.
Jack worked as an equipment processor at the Letterkenny Army Depot, from where he retired after twenty-eight years of employment.
He was a member of the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League and Amvets Post 224, both of Chambersburg; Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Hub City Club, and Minnequa Social Club, all of Shippensburg.
In his free time Jack enjoyed competition shooting, collecting die cast metal cars, and watching old movies.
He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Starliper-Mull of Chambersburg and Nancy Reynoso of Georgia; five grandchildren, Tamara and Darius Spoonhour and Eddie, Jessica, and Victor Sanchez; one brother, Dennis Starliper of Shippensburg, two sisters, Connie Shoemaker of Orrstown and Cheryl Neil of Newburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Starliper, Jr. and Kenneth Starliper.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be a private family viewing held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. A public graveside service with military honors will be held in the springtime, in the Lurgan Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents.
