Obituary for Harold L. Creamer

Harold L. Creamer, 97, of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at Elmcroft of Shippensburg.

Born on Thursday, March 6, 1924 in Shippensburg, he was the son of the late Oren S. and Florence E. (Shoffner) Creamer.

Harold was a 1941 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and worked as a machinist at the Swartz-Mortensen Machine Shop, Newville for 20 years. After retiring in 1986, he operated Creamer’s Machine Shop.

Harold was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God, where he was appointed a lifetime Elder, Trustee, and Church Council President. He was also a Sunday School teacher for 54 years, a teacher of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, and a member of the Men’s Bible Class and Men’s Brotherhood. Harold was also a member of A.A.R.P. Chapter #2525.

He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Esther M. (Smith) Creamer; two daughters, Delores C. Delancy and Doris C. Hutchins, both of Shippensburg; four grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Foster B. Creamer, and one sister, Opal Mae Weaver.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Shippensburg First Church of God with Pastor Jim Rogers and Pastor Gary Hornbaker officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the services on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s name to the Shippensburg First Church of God, 121 East King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
