Obituary for Faye Marie Hammond (Moreland)
Faye Marie Hammond, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at The Leland of Laurel Run, Waynesboro, PA.
Born Wednesday, December 22, 1937 in Leetown, WV, she was a daughter of the late Irvin Eugene and Ruth Ellen Kave Moreland.
She was of the Methodist Faith. Faye was a self-employed dairy farmer. She loved to work her farmland, enjoyed mowing hay and being with her cattle.
She is survived by two nieces, Tiffany (Darren) Hine and Karen (Dave) Lemley; one great-niece, Madison (Lean) Dela Vega; one great-nephew, Jeremiah (Liz) Staubs; and three great-great nephews, Ethan Dela Vega, Christian and Michael Staubs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Hammond who passed away July 22, 2007; one brother, Rowlen “Speed” Moreland; and two sisters, Josephine Wilson and Mary Ann Lee.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery, with Mr. Reuben Coldsmith officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
