Obituary for Edward W. "Ed" Burkett
Edward W. “Ed” Burkett, 81, of Newville, passed away the morning of Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Green Ridge Village.
He was born on April 24, 1941 in Carlisle, a son of the late Chester Lee and Jeanette Elizabeth (Harding) Burkett.
Ed loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Big Spring Fish & Game Association and the American Legion Post #421, Newville. Edward was also a United States Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his son, Patrick W. (Renee) Burkett of Walnut Bottom; two grandchildren, Nickole Lauren Burkett and Matthew Burkett; three siblings, Richard Burkett, Lawrence “Larry” (Kathy) Burkett, and Nancy Burkholder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita “Mutch” (Gipe) Burkett, who passed away on May 20, 2003. Also preceding him in death is one brother, Steven Burkett.
Funeral services will be private. Ed will be laid to rest alongside his wife in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
