Obituary for Dorinda Kay Atherton
Dorinda Kay Atherton, 46, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, January 7, 2021, at her home.
She was born on April 24, 1974, in Chambersburg, a daughter of Barry and Carolyn (Collier) Atherton of Orrstown.
Dorinda worked as a dietary manager, at several of the local area nursing homes, for over twenty years. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking her dog, and running.
In addition to her parents, Dorinda is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie Weaver of Shippensburg; her sister, Sherri Ann Alleman of Orrstown, two nieces, Trista Alleman and Palmer Horst of Orrstown; and her beloved beagle, Manny. She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Her funeral services, entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, will be private. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or service at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
