Obituary for David J. Bowers Jr.
David J. Bowers, Jr., 41, of Shippensburg, died in the early morning hours of Friday, August 15, 2014, at his home.
He was born on October 2, 1972, in Carlisle, the son of David J. and Dottie M. Carmack Bowers, Sr.
David was currently employed as a Welder at Shippensburg Pump Co. and had previously worked at Volvo Inc., Shippensburg, as well as Bri-Mar, Chambersburg.
He was a Son of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg and a social member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, both of Shippensburg. David was very involved in the Dart League at the both of the clubs, liked to play softball, and really loved to archery hunt.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Wendy S. (Fred) Shaffer and Kim R. Bowers and her companion, J.R. Malseed, both of Shippensburg; his daughter, Makayla Orndorff of Newville; many aunts and uncles; four nieces; and one nephew.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Mr. Ronald Karns will officiate. Interment will be private. Viewing will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
