Obituary for Carl David Wenger

Carl David Wenger, oldest son of John David and F. Catherine (Gayman) Wenger, was born Sunday, August 24, 1947. He passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at home in Orrstown, PA at the age of 74.

He was a member of the Old Order German Baptist Brethren, New Conference (Mt. Zion). Carl graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1965. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and resident of Pleasant Hall until his retirement in 2017. Carl was involved with the Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau for many years during his career.

Carl is survived by his wife Susanne E. (Biesecker) Wenger. They were married for 52 years and were blessed with three daughters and two sons. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marsha (Timothy) Oyler, Denise (Donald) Martin, Sharon (Benjamin) Peckman, Dwaine (Wendy Goshorn) Wenger, and Ronald (Amy Shenk) Wenger. In his passing, he also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Trent and Ryan Oyler, Cade and Chase Martin, Jaina and Curtis Peckman, Ian and Lauryn Wenger, and Gavin and Colin Wenger; his siblings, Mary Ann Wenger, Alvin (Darlene) Wenger, Ruth (Lawrence) Lehman, Kay (Daniel) Miller, Alice (Stephen) Hess, and Eileen (Paul) Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg. Officiating will be Minister Edward Hess and Minister Bradley Layman. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. in the church and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
