Obituary for Lois M. (Fogelsanger) Heberlig (Wadel)
Lois M. (Fogelsanger) Heberlig, 77, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at home.
She was born Sunday, May 14, 1944 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, PA. Lois was a daughter of the late Leslie Glenn and Erma Jane (Gettel) Wadel.
She and her late husband, Mervin O. Fogelsanger owned and operated the Fogelsanger Funeral Home in Shippensburg. Lois then worked at the Orrstown Bank until her retirement. She was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Lois was a member of the Shippensburg Civic Club, West End Fire & Rescue Company and the Cumberland Valley Hose Company, Shippensburg. She was a 1962 graduate of the Big Spring High School.
Lois is survived by her husband, F. David Heberlig; two sons, John M. Fogelsanger and Andrew D. Fogelsanger and his wife Jennifer; four grandchildren, David, Kasandra, Andrew B., and Stephen Fogelsanger; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Joyce L. (Robert) Wolfgang of Mt. Wolf and Lila J. (Robert) Yeager of York; one brother, Verne L. (Rebecca) Wadel of Newburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Allen Fogelsanger who passed away July 12, 1968.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Bob Vizthum and The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 S. Penn St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
