Obituary for Betty A. Crider (Shoemaker)
Betty A. (Shoemaker) Crider, 71, of Newville, passed away the afternoon of Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital.
She was born on Sunday, July 24, 1949, a daughter of the late John W. and Florence L. (Shoff) Shoemaker.
Betty loved word searches, watching NASCAR, and going to car shows. She was also a member of the Mopar Rebellion Car Club, Carlisle.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul F. Crider, Sr.; one son, Paul F. “PJ” (Sara) Crider, Jr.; one daughter, Melissa (James) Hoover; two granddaughters, Cassidy Camplese and Emma Winter; and two siblings, Ronald Shoemaker and Susan Dick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin A. Crider; and one brother, Charles “Bill” Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Dale Detweiler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
