Obituary for Audrey B. Keyes (Brooks)
Audrey B. Keyes, known to her loving grandchildren as Meemaw, 83, of Shippensburg departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
She was born on August 22, 1937, in Reisterstown, MD, a daughter of the late Alva and Nora Jean (Childers) Brooks.
Audrey worked in Westminster, MD, as an award winning, Carroll County deputy sheriff for many years before happily retiring to Pennsylvania to be closer to her beloved family.
She was a strong and faithful Christian Believer. Audrey enjoyed her animal companions and supporting many charitable causes.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet L. Clawson and husband Kevin of Shippensburg, and Kelley A. Bjorkland and husband William of Bishopville, MD; two sons, Robert S. Keyes, Jr. and wife Michelle of Shippensburg and James Keyes of Massachusetts; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Seigman and Bonnie Nash of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stanley Keyes, Sr., also known as "Pop", who died on February 28, 2004, one brother, Kenny Brooks and one sister, Betty Wolfe Wheel.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
