Obituary for Andreas Leonard "Andy" Alleman
Andreas L. “Andy” Alleman, 69, of Chambersburg, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Chambersburg.
Born Saturday, May 9, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lester I. and Christina Ploum Alleman.
Andy was a 1972 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He retired from the International Union Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 5 with over 25 years of service. Andy also retired from the Navy Reserves Sea Bees after 21 years of service.
He was a member of Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg, and attended the King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.
Andy was a former member of the Chambersburg Club, and the Burt J. Asper American Legion Post #46, Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by one son, Jesse Alleman, Chambersburg; one daughter, Danielle Surotchak, Shippensburg; four siblings, Ruby L. Wenger, Laverne L. (husband Ronald) Wagner, all of Chambersburg, Christine L. (husband Mick) Boyd, Jr., Stanley, NC, and Robert L. Alleman, Newburg; and five grandchildren.
A celebration of Andy’s life will take place in the spring and will be announced at a later date.
